On February 23, 2026, seven goats and sheep were killed by two stray, uncontrolled dogs at Wishing Star Farm petting zoo in Ellicott Colorado. The dog attack occurred when a small white pitbull and a black mouthed cur killed seven animals and left others injured as well. The attack stopped when a staff member came across the scene and scared the dogs away. Cameras on the property caught the dogs being chased away but did not give clear enough images to identify the dogs easily. Wishing Star Farm has asked the public for any information related to the potential owner of the dogs and expressed ongoing concern for a future attack. This tragic attack highlights the importance of dog owners properly restraining, kenneling, and controlling their dogs.
