The Fraser – Winter Park Police Department needs your help identifying the snowboarder involved in a hit and run collision that left an 8-year-old skier seriously injured at Winter Park Resort on March 1, 2026. According to reports, the 8-year-old boy had stopped near the Butch’s Breezeway and Gangway runs when he was struck by an unidentified snowboarder. According to the child, the snowboarder spoke with him briefly before leaving the area.
A witness stopped to help the injured boy and escorted him to a ski patroller. The patroller then transferred the child to East Grand Community Clinic where he was treated for a concussion and facial injuries.
The snowboarder is described as a middle-aged male. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information that could help identify the snowboarder, to contact the Fraser – Winter Park Police Department at (970) 722-7779 or by email at PD@wpgov.com.
