Adults learning to ski and snowboarding will soon have a new option designed specifically for them. The Wolf Creek Ski Area near Pagosa Springs, Colorado, is building a unique chair lift for adults who are new to the sports of skiing and snowboarding, which will allow them to learn in a relaxed environment.
Typically beginner chair lifts are designed for children and are often uncomfortable for adults to use. However, “The Tumbler,” which will be located near Wolf Creek’s learning area, will be built for adults and will operate at half the speed as a regular chair lift to acclimate newcomers. Operators of the Tumbler lift will emphasize lift safety to educate guests to safely and comfortably ride the chair lift.
The Tumbler is a unique and welcome addition to a Colorado ski area. Learning to ski, especially for adults, can be daunting, and few ski areas offer specific areas, let alone designated chair lifts, for adult beginners.
